The Outdoor Photography Experience is a combination of holiday, outdoor activities and a professional course in photography, led by Dutch photographer Martin Hogeboom. During this week you will enjoy many experiences. We will take you to high mountains, beautiful bays, nature reserves and caves. And just around the corner, you will find Spanish village life with many picture-perfect scenes.
During the adventurous days you will learn how to add the ‘Wow’-factor to your images. You will gain insights about many aspects of your photography, including an efficient workflow and post-production.
You stay in a comfortable hotel where you enjoy your breakfasts, short theoretic briefings and workshops. From this base camp we will take you to beaches, caves, kayaking, hiking, coasteering and mountainbiking.
All activities are customized for the photography course. You will be active yourself (on your own level!) and take photos of the other participants. After each adventurous day there is time to select and retouch the best images and share them with the others. Each evening we will enjoy dinner in a different restaurant where we exchange experiences of the day and see the beautiful results!
The coastal village of La Herradura is a 45-minute drive from Málaga city and the perfect base camp for this week. With the Mediterranean within walking distance and the Alpujarras and Sierra Nevada mountains in the background, this place offers a wealth of possibilities within reach. The village receives many Spanish tourists during summer but is relatively quiet during the rest of the year. The coastline is called ‘Costa Tropical’ and that name says it all!
Martin Hogeboom has been a fulltime professional photographer since 2001 and specializes in portraits, reports and outdoor photography. He lives in the Netherlands but works all over the world. In his photos he plays with light, depth of field, perspectives and colors. He regularly teaches workshops and he has released two photo books ‘Everyday People’ and ‘Whisky Rocks’. Besides this, he is an official ambassador of Fuji X-camera’s. Martin’s enthusiasm and experience with outdoor work make him the ideal person to lead the Outdoor Photography Experience.
